Dear Flagstaff Community,
Many residents of the City of Flagstaff have observed that progress has been stalled on issues critical to the vitality of Flagstaff including economic development, affordable housing and fiscal sustainability. Flagstaff deserves strong and proactive leadership that addresses issues and finds solutions. We deserve leadership that engages key partners in problem solving. Flagstaff deserves leadership that gets things done. Through my service to our community-including six years on the Flagstaff City Council-I have demonstrated that I am this kind of leader.
I have been humbled by the outpouring of support expressed through a “Draft Kara” campaign that asked me to consider running to become our city’s next mayor.
I am running for Mayor because I am a leader who will work collaboratively with the City Council and our community to create a long term vision, set priorities, and work constructively to get things done. As a Flagstaff City Council member I fought to ensure that government was accountable to its citizens, and that all processes at City Hall were predictable, fair and transparent. As your Mayor, I will be ready to lead on the first day.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my website to find out more about me. If you don’t find what you are looking for, please contact me .
Respectfully,

P.S. Don’t forget that the last day to register to vote in the primary is February 8, 2010. Be sure you have your current address on file because this is a mail-in election. You should receive you ballot at your registered address about a month before ballots are due.
